Many people have invested a lot of money into opening a new business on the internet. They have probably spent money on the products that they have for sale and more money to establish an online presence for their retail establishment through the use of an internet website. Now they wonder if they should spend money on email marketing software to help build their business.

Before many people reach this point, they have probably done a considerable amount of research on the products they have chosen to sell and performed some marketing trials in their local vicinity to see how the public feels about those products. They probably asked for comments about their products and compiled a list of email addresses from the survey forms they handed out to people who were part of the test marketing program.

These forms asked people if they were interested in receiving email marketing notices about the products when they were finally offered for sale on an internet website. The email addresses of the people who opted to be notified were carefully recorded. These people wanted the products that were going to be sold and were the perfect candidates to contact to get the ball rolling on jumpstarting sales and building the business from the ground up.

The new business owner also reviewed a lot of email marketing programs that they could use to build their business. Some of those email marketing businesses had very simple software that would allow the business owner to create ads to notify people of the new business and the products that were for sale. The email marketing software could be filled with a variety of information about each potential customer based on the information that they provided on the surveys.

The new business owners choose to start a email marketing campaign and send out a catchy ad that is sure to make people visit the new retail site. They began using the email marketing software to monitor how many of those people viewed the email and how many of those prospective customers actually opened the email and read the details about the new stores website and its internet address.

The marketing list used for those emails can continually be updated to show what the customer's interest is in the emails that they receive. Those that open the emails and visit the site are more likely to buy something because they have shown a lot of interest. Those that did not even open the email about the new business are less likely to buy and can be earmarked as such to alleviate the business owner from incurring charges from the emails they send that are less likely to produce sales.

All of these prospective customers will eventually be put into different groups. The new business owner can save time and money by marketing to people who are interested and since they already said they were on the survey forms, he knows that these people can help build the new business by sharing the internet website address with friends and family.

Those survey participants that opted in for email marketing offers but did not open the email will probably do nothing to help build the business, but the new owner knows that the email marketing software will allow them to save the email address and one day he can send another email to give them a second chance to take advantage of the low prices on the products that are offered for sale on the new website.
