How do you buy a Ferrari with bad credit? That was the question my friend Angela posed the other day. She loves the custom Ferrari rims on those Ferrari 458 Spiders, her favorite car of all time. Angela, poor Angela, works as a bartender at a back-end dive, but she has Kim Kardashian tastes. Leaving the dead-end tavern of last resort, I walked by a Toyota dealership. You know what? Everything on those vehicles from the wheel rims to the metallic roof looked pretty chintzy to me. I thought about Angela and her dream of driving, not even owning, a Ferrari. What about owning a celebrity type car? I thought, how would one do it with bad credit? Steal this car. That is what Abbie Hoffman would say or Muammar Gaddafi would do. That also takes a lot of planning, and frankly, would break the law. Legally though, maybe the prudent action to take would be to take out a car loan. A lot of times car dealerships work with people to finance vehicles. Indeed, more than 85 percent of Americans finance their vehicle purchases with loans at appropriate interest rates and terms. Or that is what they want you to believe. You know, the car dealers, the financiers, the people who want to saddle you with usurious rates and poor service. At least, that was what Angela said when I returned to her seedy, run of the mill, and ran out of the mill dive of a bar. We switched our mode to Ferrari Noire and drive forward reconsidering how to get a Ferrari 355s, for example, with really bad credit. At least the car would be previously used, Kim Kardashian be darned. OK, steal somebody's identity then, Angela said, and even though your credit is bad, theirs might be good. Sorry darling, that's against the law too. What's your legal problem anyway? That did spark a thought though. Your credit might be bad, but you might know someone whose credit is good, say a relative or close friend. Get them to co-sign a loan. That guarantees payments to the dealer and brings in the loan rate to conform with their rating, not yours. Eureka! We found it. Now, if only we knew somebody who could co-sign that darn Ferrari loan, Angela may yet fulfill her dream of driving and owning such a magnificent car. Perhaps miracles happen. I would not hold my breath though. Just as we were talking about buying that dream Ferrari with bad credit, the authorities burst into the bar. Guess what? They arrested Angela for credit card fraud. That Kim Kardashian Ferrari obtained with bad credit just will have to wait.
