Nokia has introduced a new browser, which is based on technology taken by the acquisition of US company Novarra having 10 million active users and will replace the popular Nokia’s Opera Software. One of the company’s seniors said that “The world's largest cellphone maker Nokia has dumped rival browsers and is installing only its own browser on the basic mobile handsets it is rolling out.”

Company is aiming high to achieve over 50% market share in India by means of its extensive collection of innovative devices, services, content integration & other functional stuff by the end of 2012. The telecom industry journal ‘Voice & Data’ stated that the Indian mobile handset market has achieved Rs.33, 172 crore & Nokia has total share of Rs.12, 929 for fiscal 2010-11. In this innovative chain, company has revealed ‘Asha’ series of mid-end mobiles that priced around Rs.4, 100 & Rs.8, 000.

The Nokia India Vice-President & Managing Director, D. Shivakumar said that "The Asha range will be a huge boon in a market like India, where the total Internet penetration is under seventy million and the total mobile population is over 800 million”.
