A DVD player returned to a local Wal-Mart apparently exposed a 4-year-old to pornography, the girl's parents said.
Tiffany McGurk said she and her husband bought the player this weekend.
"There was no plastic. It was upside down, but my husband said, 'Let's try. It must be good, they put it back on the shelves,'" McGurk said.
On Thursday, the family hooked the machine up for 4-year-old Vita in her room. Tiffany said that when the power popped on, so did a pornographic movie.
"That's for adults -- 18 and above. My child's 4. She shouldn't have seen that," McGurk said.
The child immediately started asking questions.
"'Mommy, why was she doing that? Why are they doing that? That's not nice,'" McGurk said, recounting the conversation with her child. "No, no, I'm sorry. Wrong movie. Let's go play a game."
The McGurks said they believe it was a adult movie burned to DVD and left in the player by someone who had previously returned the player.
McGurk said the whole thing has been emotional and stressful.
"My daughter had to see that. She's very curious. She's 4 and she asks a lot of questions," McGurk said.
McGurk said she worries her daughter might mention this to her friends at school.
"If she does say anything to anybody, people are going to look at me, like, 'What are you doing? Why did she see this stuff?' If I had known it was in there I wouldn't have bought it, or I would have taken it out and thrown it out," McGurk said.
A Wal-Mart spokesman said the store is looking in to what happened.
