Looking to throw a princess birthday party but don't know where to start? Have you tried web searches for princess birthday party ideas only to come up with great options for those moms with tons of time on their hands?

No worries! We've compiled some of the best princess birthday party ideas for those busy moms who don't have time to bake cakes from scratch or create their own unique princess party favors. No more searching the web for hours to find those unique princess birthday party ideas.

The best way (and easiest) way to set the princess party theme is by having all the guests arrive decked out in their best royal attire. Make sure to explicitly state on the invitations that dress up is expected so none of the guests arrive in their peasant garb.

Princess Birthday Party Food

Lots of options exist for princess cakes and cupcakes. If you're really short on time or creativity, independent bakeries and grocery stores have many princess cake options. If you are a little more adventurous, you can make one yourself. The simplest choice is to place a small tiara and wand on the top of the cake. You can place candy jewels around the princess cake or cupcakes for some extra bling. Many companies make edible images for placing on top or around the outside of cakes. These are fairly easy to work with and beautifully transform your ordinary cake into a magical princess cake.

Princess Birthday Party Drinks

Any plain fruit punch can be magically transformed into a drink fit for a fairy princess by placing the fruit punch in a large clear plastic bowl and then adding edible glitter. Keep your royal drink cool with ice cubes in the shape of stars, castles or jewels. You can find these specialized ice cubes trays online that will make ice cubes in any of these fun princess shapes.

Princess Birthday Party Games or Crafts

It's important to continue with the princess theme when it comes to the party games and crafts. You can rent a bouncy castle if the weather is nice, or in many metropolitan areas you can even "rent a princess." In this case, a real life princess will attend the party, greet the guests upon arrival, sign autographs and then put on a show for the guests which could include a princess manners class, a book reading or singing princess songs.

You might also think about a princess themed bingo game, pin the crown on the princess (a great variation of pin the tail on the donkey) or even make your own edible princess wand. Just use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut out from a batch of rice cereal treats. Stick a lollipop stick in the bottom of the start treat and decorate with tubes of frosting or m&ms. You can also try making your own candy necklace kits, which the guests can then wear as edible jewelry.

Princess Birthday Party Favors

You can end the event with unique princess party favors without spending a lot of time or money. Inexpensive tiaras, necklaces, rings and wands all make great party favors. Other simple ideas include candy necklaces, candy ring pops, princess coloring books or princess tattoos.

You can host a wonderful princess themed birthday party for your royal little one without spending tons of time (or money) to do so.
