A former teacher charged with having sexual relations with a student has broken a court order by continuing to see the 15-year-old girl, according to Connecticut State Police.
A state judge had ordered Adam Friedman, 44, of Newington, to have no contact with the girl after his arrest in December on multiple sexual assault charges. Friedman was fired from his job at the Arts at the Capitol Theater magnet school in Willimantic.
State police said they set up surveillance of the girl's home in Hebron last weekend after learning she had contact with Friedman. They say they arrested him Saturday when they saw him driving in the girl's neighborhood.
Friedman had been free on $750,000 bail. A judge at Rockville Superior Court ordered Friedman held on an additional $1.5 million bond Monday.
