A new website has launched to find an actor to play the role of Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace in an upcoming biopic titled Notorious about the rapper's life, it was announced yesterday (August 10).

Producers are casting actors via the website www.biggiecasting.com to find an unknown to play Wallace, who was gunned down in Los Angeles in March 1997.

Starting on Sunday, hopefuls can upload videos of themselves for a chance to play the Hip-Hop legend on the big screen.

Notorious is executive produced Wallace's former managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts and his mother, Voletta Wallace.

"There will only be one Christopher Wallace, but I'm happy that his legacy will open a door for another to walk through," Mrs. Wallace said in a statement. "I don't want you to just imitate him. I want to see his swagger, his style, his energy and smile come through."

According to the Associated Press, Notorious will be directed by George Tillman (Soul Food, Men of Honor), while the script was authored by Reggie Rock Bythewood and Cheo Hodari Coker, who wrote the biography "Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G."

Production on the film is slated to start this Fall.
