Water damage is a large number of possible losses caused by water intruding where it will enable attack of a material or system by destructive processes such as rotting of wood, growth, rusting of steel, de-laminating of materials such as plywood, and many, many others. The damage may be imperceptibly slow and minor such as water spots that could eventually mar a surface, or it may be instantaneous and catastrophic such as flooding. You can reduce water damage consequences when we should remove all the domestic appliances and electrical goods in safe water free places and also try to put away all the carpets etc. If there are TVs, stereos and other items plugged into power outlets it\\\'s best to unplug them. Refrigerator – If your refrigerator has an icemaker, make sure the connection is secure attached to the water supply line. Sink - Replace deteriorated caulk around sinks, and checks the pipes under the sink for leaks. A slow-draining pipe may indicate a partially blocked drain that needs cleaning. Check under the sink for leaks from water supply lines or drainpipes. Shower and Bathtubs - Leaking drain pipes and shower pan leaks are also common sources of water damage. Remove and replace deteriorated or cracked caulk and grout. Water from a broken supply pipe behind the wall can leak through these damaged sealants, causing stains or soft areas around nearby floors and walls. Water Heater – Water heater should be installed on the lowest level of the home and inside a drain pan piped to the floor drain. Washing machine – Check regularly your washing machine for bulging, cracking, fraying and leaks around the ends.
