When my laptop display broke one Tuesday afternoon, I was very surprised. I’ve had my laptop for over 4 years, so I was due for something to go wrong. When I turned it on, it started as it normally does, but I soon became aware of the vertical, coloured lines all across my screen. I couldn’t see anything; I couldn’t even shut it down properly because of the coloured lines in the way.
