A Sacramento man was arrested Friday for allegedly making hundreds of nuisance and false calls to the 911 emergency system.

Jamie Best, 35, was arrested for allegedly making over 300 nuisance cell phone calls to 911 between Dec. 30 and January 16, CHP spokesman Steve Merchant said.

Merchant said the calls started with "vulgar messages" but evolved into false calls of shootings and eventually a bomb threat to a state facility.

Best was eventually located and picked up by law enforcement in South Sacramento after 83 calls on Friday alone, Merchant said.
