If you've avoided giving out promotional items in the past, you probably have a list of reasons why. Like some, perhaps you feel that giving away free promotional items is a waste of time and money. Maybe you think your promotional items will just end up being unappreciated and thrown away by most of those that receive them. Or maybe you just feel like the payoff is minimal and it just isn't worth the effort.

Regardless of how you have felt about corporate giveaways in the past, I'm sure that you will change your mind once you think about giving away mugs with a lid. Branded coffee mugs and insulated mugs are a great giveaway because they are valuable to those that receive them. They will never be discarded or stored away in a cupboard. They will be used often.

Still not convinced that your company should be giving away promo coffee mugs? Take a look at the following selling points of mugs with lid:

* Visibility - Mugs are highly visible. They are never carried around in another receptacle such as a purse or briefcase; they are always carried out in the open. They are also carried in the hand usually at chest level. This is a highly visible position.

* Size - Mugs with lid are a medium-sized promotional item which means that there is more space for your logo. You can get creative with your logo or just simply enlarge it so that it can be seen from several feet away from the mug. You can even put your brand on all sides of the mug so that people can see your brand no matter where they are located.

* Portability - People carry coffee mugs with them wherever they go. If you give away free insulated mugs, it's like giving away dozens or hundreds of miniature traveling billboards. You just never know where your logo will end up.

* Affordability - Mugs are also relatively inexpensive when compared with other marketing campaigns. Print and television ads are expensive. Online marketing can get expensive as well. Mugs, on the other hand, cost less than these options and continue advertising long after the effectiveness of other advertisements wears off.

If you're worrying about the time that it will take to hand out giveaways, don't. Most promotional items can be given away at fairs, bazaars and other public events. Giving away items at these events also gives you an opportunity to communicate with potential customers and make sales to a large number of people. The money that you earn in sales from these types of events could possibly even pay for the cost of the promotional items that you give away. So, if you have avoided giving away freebies, why not start now and give away mugs with lid?
