Commercial roofing is a building material used to protect and seal the top of commercial structures. It covers structural framing and prevents rain and other precipitation from entering the building. Commercial roofing generally has a relatively flat slope, as opposed to residential roofing, which is typically steeply sloped. There are a variety of materials used to create commercial roofing systems. The Dura-ply prefabricated single-ply roofing system is ideal for virtually any commercial or industrial, flat or low-sloped application. The highly-reflective white membrane delivers real energy cost savings for building owners and managers. Extremely durable and easily installed without disruption to daily operations, the roofing system is also leak-proof, resistant to high winds, and virtually maintenance-free.

A properly built and maintained roof extends the longevity of a building, residential or commercial. Versed with the skill of modern roofing elements, commercial roofing suits best to any building. Roofing is done based on the customers need. These roofs also give a number of other advantages to commercial and institutional facilities, which includes lowered indoor temperatures, better occupant ease, and low cooling loads on HVAC systems. Reflecting and letting out the sun’s energy back to the atmosphere, the roofs surface stays cooler and shift less warmth to the buildings indoors, compared to a traditional roof. When it comes to making a decision on a commercial roofing project, it can be a major task.

One has to question themselves am I getting in with the correct roofers? The answer may be with the search of roofing referrals from our family members and friends. We have to look in for whether the roofers are licensed, for better result on roofing. Roofer should be selected based on how professional they were and how comfortable we anticipate when we will be working with them. When we're looking for a roofer for our commercial roofing project we need to find a contractor who understands the special needs of a commercial roofing project.

Traditionally, many commercial roofs were constructed using shingles, which are overlapping sections of material laid in rows to help improve runoff. Shingles made from clay or ceramic tiles are popular in areas with a warmer climate, as these materials help to repel sunlight and keep the building cool. They are fairly expensive, but typically last for many years and offer a distinctive style. Wood shingles made from cedar or pine is used for mainly for their appearance, and is typically expensive and subject to mold and insect damage. Slate shingles are made from thin layers of rock, and are one of the most costly shingle materials available. They are very strong and durable, and may last well over 100 years upon installation.
