When asked what is the most potent marketing material today your most probable answer would be TV ads or billboards. Unfortunately, not everyone has the money to do TV ads or billboards. Small business only have meager budget for their marketing campaign. For affordability issues, you can always make use of business card printing.

When you first opened your business, perhaps the first thing you bought for your business is the business cards. Nothing is more thrilling that getting an impressive business card to tell people that you are open for business. Your cards are the printed symbol of the authenticity of your business, so they will have to represent you well in front of people.

The sad fact is not everyone is enthusiastic to receive business cards today. In fact, some of them may not be using these cards anymore as there are much easier and modernized ways of getting known in the market. This made business card design a tough job. It takes creativity, knowledge, and practice to create the best cards that will represent you in front of people. It is also difficult to create versatile and widely accepted cards that do not require a lot of investment.

Here are ways to get you started in your business cards:

Design considerations:

1. Plan on the design of your cards. Make it a point to know who your target customers are. It would be best to know the characteristics of your prospects in order to come up with a design that best suit them.

2. Keep the design simple and easy to understand. As much as possible there should be enough white space as not to make your cards look overcrowded. Do not put too much information in your cards. Just put the basics such as your name, business name, phone number, address, email and web site.

3. Use a font that is clear and large enough for people of all ages to read. You do not need fancy fonts in your cards. Keep in mind that your goal is to get customers and not scare them away with your unreadable contact details.

4. Use color printing. If you want to get noticed, make sure to put colors in your cards. The good news is color printing is not cost effective to do. There are plenty of printing companies that provide high quality printing at affordable prices.

Finding your target customers:

1. Make it a point to give out your card with both hands. This will create the impressive that your cards are something important and provide more impact.

2. It would make it easier to give out card by asking for the card of the person first. Chances are he or she will ask for your card in return.

3. When giving out your cards, make it a point to introduce yourself with it.

4. You can always include your cards in your mail. Insert it in your bill payments, packages, and other correspondence.

Be sure to keep your custom business cards and those that you receive in a good business card holder to keep them in pristine condition. This will show people how important your cards and their cards are so they will take good care of your card as well. Also, make it a point to send ten cards each day to get the response and the result that you desire.
