Like many PS3 owners, you may have come across the Yellow Light Of Death on your PS3. Devastating at first, you’ll be happy to know that there are many ways to fix this very common problem among PS3s. Follow the tips below, and if they don’t succeed in fixing your PS3 continue to read for some alternatives.

1) Checking for Loose Cables
The Yellow light of death may simply mean one or more cables aren’t properly plugged into your PS3. This can be easily fixed, just do the following:

- Check all cables plugged in your PS3. If no problems are found restart the PS3

- Unplug all cables except for the power cord, and then plug them back in. this includes the video cables, audio cables, and even the internet cable.

- Unplug the hard drive and plug it back in. Make sure this is done properly without damaging the hard drive.

2) Sending the PS3 In for Repair

While this may seem like the logical answer to a broken PS3, this is actually the least efficient method for fixing it. The disadvantages of this option include:

- A cost of $150 even though you’re not at fault

- 4-6 weeks wait time to get your PS3 back

- Loss of all data previously on the PS3

The disadvantages of this option make it a poor choice, and the much more efficient, quicker alternative found below should be used.

3) Using a Reputable Guide to Fix the PS3 Yourself

Fixing your PS3 yourself provides many benefits. Luckily, you don’t even need to search for a reputable guide, it can already be found on the internet. The benefits of using this method are:

- Low Cost; you wont need to pay $150

- Quicker; there’s no shipping and no wait time

- Guaranteed to work

- Safe, and no prior knowledge is required.
