Right now we've had the first very exciting game of the 2011 NBA Eastern Conference Finals and we can't wait for the remaining games. Chicago won the game 103-82. Derrick Rose scored 28 points and Luol Deng subdued LeBron James and so the Chicago Bulls struck first. The Bulls are off to a good start in this series after sweeping the Heat during the regular season. The Chicago Bulls have the NBA coach of the year and the Most Valuable Player. They had the best record in the NBA, an unbeaten regular season over the Miami Heat, but Tom Thibodeau declared his Bulls to be the underdogs. I'm not sure who he convinced, but now his line doesn't seem believable. Despite their record, the Bulls represent more new blood than anyone else in the Finals other than the Thunder, as it has been 13 years since their last title. But the obvious comparisons to come between Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan, and whether a Chicago title would kick off another dynasty, is getting a little tiresome. One thing's sure, no team with the best record in the NBA can be a Cinderella pick. They've been the most efficient defensive team in the playoffs. Defense has been their strength all season long and can carry them into the 2011 Finals.

Then we have the Western Conference Finals. Tonight the Dallas Mavericks will host the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1. Two years after a 23-win season, Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder are in the Western Conference Finals. Last year in their first playoff appearance since they moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle, they lost to eventual champions Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

The Mavericks became the first team to beat the Lakers in a seven-game series since the Boston Celtics did it in 2008. If they can keep up their phenomenal three-point shooting record and continue to hold their opponents below 100 points as they've done during the playoffs, they will be difficult to beat.
