An idea could either sprout as a eureka moment, or an innovation which could lead to an improvement in the existing system and structure of a product or process. When apple came out with LISA (which was the first computer ever to support a graphical use interface, it was a mere idea which the legendary Steve Jobs converted into one of the world’s greatest innovations ever . They pioneered the technology and created the I revolution starting with the I-pod to one of the best phones ever, the I-phone. They say fashion changes even before the sun sets at night. In case of Apple, they did the same with their innovative products, obviously on a very literal note. All this was possible only because of the innovation ideas Steve Jobs and his team excelled in. The innovation management process followed by the team from what we can assume was a very systematic yet innovative way of approach towards excellence which led to the improved and developed products. The products in the for of both software and hardwares was the central tip of the iceberg which is why Apple ranks as the number one company in the top innovative companies even today. They combined innovation management with management of innovation which led to the optimal development of their products which using top notch innovation management processes. Innovation could be directly complimented with creativity which mainly is the birth of new ideas surpassing the old ones while aft the same time focusing upon the global innovation management systems. This is precisely the reason why the I-phones not only have a market in the western countries but through out the world. Steve Jobs once said that “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower”. This line quoted by him clearly states the fact that it is important to come up with innovations as without that you wouldn’t be any different from the guy who deigned a pen but didn’t know how to use it. Innovation process management along with management of innovation is something which he seems to have mastered for it is important that the people working within the company continuously come up with new ideas to strive successfully amongst its various competitors.
