Remember the age old adage, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Well, that’s what you got to do, search for a job, with a renewed sense of determination. The answer to your worry could be that you haven’t searched for it through the correct channels or searched for through limited channels. Agreed that reputed job sites have the best recruiters posting their requirements, but have you tried posting your profile n the local job sites? Local recruiters would first contact these job sites when searching for people locally. But why limit yourself to job sites, there is a whole wide network that you could look out for when searching for a job.

You could start by making a list of companies that pertain to your field. Once the list is ready, look out for the careers page on their websites. Many companies, don’t advertise on newspapers or job sites, they simply post it on their websites.

Have a deadline, because, until you have a deadline, you wouldn’t be focused on achieving your goals. The deadline gives you a sense of purpose, when you search for jobs.

Have you tried the social networking sites? Social networking sites are very good, provided you use it well. You could send private messages through LinkedIn, to the person you would be reporting to. Make sure you don’t brag too much about yourself or sound desperate, or you would be another spammer on his inbox.

Networking is very important when it comes to searching for a job. Always have contact from people in your sphere of interest. These would have information about their companies hiring process and other details.

Is there anyone from a particular company who blogs about your sphere of activity? Why don’t you comment on these? Believe it or not people are equally interested on reading the comments on blog spots and a good comment is always appreciated. But don’t make a comment just for the sake of it. Make sure that the comment is relevant to the topic and you have something that would add value to the blog. It’s bound to be noticed leading to an exchange of ideas on what wrong and what right about your job search.
