We all hear talk about the current recession, but too few have an in-depth understanding of economic recession statistics and indicators. While it might at first seem a bit intimidating to learn, these measures actually make it easier to understand how economic predictions are made. Keep reading and I’ll explain some basics. Easy way to summarise about economic recession 2011 is scrutinizing facts and figures about basic indicators. These basic indicators take account of industrial production level, personal & individual income, gross domestic production and record unemployment. The presenteconomic recession is actively being discussed, analyzed and debated, no matter what radio station you listen to, newspaper you read, or program you watch on TV.

Unemployment rate has increased, gross domestic production has significantly fallen and individual income has drastically reduced. In short, all these things without a doubt prove economic recession 2011. Our economy is in turmoil in the Unites States and this turmoil is spreading worldwide. Understanding what is happening can sometimes seem like it is much too complicated. A down economy is when amazing ideas appear because we are forced to think. Sometime because we don’t think we fall into the pattern mode. When the pattern doesn’t occur we feel disenfranchised.

There are complex reasons in addition to simple causes as to why economic recessions occur.

* Crash of investment bank Bear Stearns (13 March).
* Fall of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (7 September).
* Bank of America’s acquisition of Merrill Lynch for $50 billion (14 September).
* Industrial production levels are lower today than in any other recession in history. According to NBER, this is especially worrisome as it is expected to continue to get worse over a long period of time (more than a few months.)
* Don’t have a job
* There are no opportunities
* Over consumption may also be another reason for a recession. Spending more than what is necessary can contribute to debt. Debt can affect the amount people have in savings an what they have available for disposable income.
* The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is one of the major indicators of a recession and also is used to distinguish from a depression. During times of recession the GDP falls significantly (but by less than 10%) over a period of several months. The GDP has actually recently reached a new all-time low.
* Government economic policies could be used to fend off problems with the economy, but failure to allow for effective policies can have detrimental effects. If efforts are not effective, those policies could cause the economy to boom and then bust and then lead to inflation.

All of this can cause a great deal of fear and stress, especially since an economic recession can go on for years. What are some things that we can do to have a defense against any economic hardships yet to come? Although there are several causes to bring about a recession, the hardest part is recovering from the affects of the economic turmoil. However, there are steps each person can take to help lessen the impact the economy can have on them personally.

What would I do?

One of the first things that can be done to survive this economic recession is to actually live within your means. Stop accumulating any further debt, and make a commitment to yourself to do this. If you live alone, this is a personal commitment to yourself, but if you have a family, it needs to become a family goal.

The single most important thing we can all do is to educate ourselves on the causes, indicators and economic recession statistics. Until we empower ourselves with knowledge it is nearly impossible to make wise choices in how to protect ourselves and our loved ones’ financial futures.

Don’t keep all your money in the bank. Have substantial cash on hand for emergency (such as a bank holiday) Stock up on a couple months food (canned, dried, beans, rice) I am able to survive without electricity (off the grid, if the grid goes down)

Don’t get into the “what will the neighbors think” syndrome. Who cares? They’re probably worse off than you are. Just concentrate on your own family’s business and let your neighbors take care of their own problems. Believe me, they have them too.
