The Mount Zion Church of God in Christ off of 31st and Q streets were broken into sometime between last Sunday and Tuesday.

The burglars took three of the church's keyboards. Together they are worth $4,000.

The church's pastor said music plays a pivotal role in their services and without the keyboards its just not the same.

"It's very heart wrenching because there was a time when the respect level for the church was very high, but the respect level for the church has decreased a lot," said Pastor Lesley Dewayne Richardson.

Richardson told KETV NewsWatch 7 that with the economy as tough as it is, it won't be easy to replace the keyboards.

This is the second time the church has been a target.

It was also hit just before Thanksgiving. Richardson said that time checks and cash were stolen.

Richardson said the church is in the process of getting an alarm system and security cameras installed.

Richardson said he asks that anyone with any information call police or the church.
