U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials seized more than 4,800 counterfeit purses worth more than $5.5 million in West Palm Beach.
In a news release Thursday, officials said the officers found 4,805 purses, wallets and backpacks on Nov. 26 in a shipment that stopped in South Florida on its way from China to the Bahamas.
Officials said specialists determined that the items were counterfeit, and authorities seized all the items on Jan. 13. The goods had a street value of more than $5.5 million, officials said.
