The demand for smartphones is increasing day by day, and if the market is to be believed, this is coming out with another demand of increasing battery life and screen brightness. With this appeal, Nokia took the initiative by introducing Nokia 701 and manages to pack in the brightest screen on a mobile phone to date with its 1000 nits.

Similar to our other new Smartphones today, the Nokia 701 is also powered by Symbian Belle, which has a lot of UI elements in common with Android and other modern mobile operating systems and a 1GHz processor. But with the touchscreen display of 3.5-inch IPS LCD display with 360x640 with ClearBlack technology(which diminishes reflections outside), creating a great combination of excellent brightness and contrast makes Nokia 701 stand out. Also it is the brightest smartphone screen to date (in terms of NITs). The battery is rated at up to 17 hour’s talktime over GSM or up to 550 hours on standby (8.8/504h over 3G). There’s an 8-megapixel full focus camera with a dual-LED flash on the back, and there’s a secondary camera at the front for video calling. It comes with unbeatable internal memory of 8 GB and can be expanded to 32 GB supported by microSD. We would be benefited to use and capture the cherished moments with the 8 mega pixel camera. The camera is efficient to an extent that it can deliver high clarity images of sceneries which can be further used as wall papers. It can also provide high definition photos. However, Nokia have tried hard to give users options based on their personal tastes. It has brought in very thorough customization to an extent that arranging, deleting or moving them to a folder simply requires a long press to bring up the options. Out of the new Symbian Belle batch, the Nokia 701 is the most encumbered so far, and the design does sport some premium material like the easily detachable metal battery cover. The rest is plastic, but of the sturdy variety, and the phone feels pretty solid in the hand. Nokia 701 is thin enough at 0.43” (11mm).

Irrespective of the acclamation that the handset is certainly very attractive and well designed, it would be wrong to deny the fact that the Nokia 701 is not as much stylish as other handsets, but features in plentiful facilities and choices which is hardnosed.
