Ogden police have arrested several people over a YouTube video of a high school girl getting beaten up. Two women were arrested and three teenagers were cited for what police call a vicious assault.

It happened Dec. 2 in the 500 block of 28th Street. Lt. Loring Draper of the Ogden Police Department says the 15-year-old victim is from Mount Ogden Junior High. Another student at that school saw the YouTube video and reported it to the school's resource officer.

The victim ended up in the hospital for a few days. She was kicked and punched, her eye socket was broken, and it all ended up on the Internet.

Police say the group beat up the girl because she called them "scraps," an insult among Crips gang members. Gleeful comments like, "Ha, ha, ha. Next time keep your mouth shut," accompanied the video.

The video was removed from YouTube, but not before officers were able to identify and arrest the suspected attackers.

The adult suspects are 24-year-old Paloma Veronica Lopez and 18-year-old Alexandra Elizabeth Gutierrez. They face charges of child abuse, aggravated assault and rioting. They have been released from Weber County Jail on $5,000 bond. The three 15-year-old suspects are from Mound Fort Junior High.
