barristers chambers is a term used to describe an association of self-employed barristers. These chambers are usually headed by a Queens Chamber or Silk which offers a small degree of influence on its members. Barristers who choose to be members operate under certain guidelines or frameworks set by the chamber. These legal professionals are also asked to pay a tenancy fee or a portion of their earning to support the barristers chambers.

London has the greatest concentration of these chambers with a few located outside the city. Barrister’s chambers should not be confused with law firms. Unlike law firms these association of barristers could be described as fraternities where each member can find support while maintaining a high degree of independence.

There are two types of barristers, self employed and employed. Employed barristers work for private organisations or public offices and receive a salary in return for rendering their services to the institution. Meanwhile, self employed barristers work independently and receive income from those directly hiring their services.

The size of a chambers membership can be a good indication of the extent of services they can offer. Smaller chambers may be a collection of barristers who specialise in one field while bigger chambers means members are more diversified in their specialties enabling them to offer better advice on more legal matters.

Solicitors searching for advice and seeking an audience for the clients in court could find many of the best barristers in barrister’s chambers. London, the site of many of the country’s highest courts is a natural location for many of these chambers.

Barristers are experts in advocacy and their services could be a wonderful addition to any legal team. They could also offer professional advice and insight regarding legal arguments and merits of a certain case. Some barristers may also specialize in mediation saving solicitors and clients from going to court.

Barrister’s chambers in London are a great opportunity for solicitors and their clients to get the best professionals to help them in their legal concerns. By enrolling their services, they are assured that they get the best advocates to represent them court cases.
